We’re blessed locally, that Lutterworth has a brilliant, diverse range of small independent businesses and I am very proud to support this initiative which hopes to highlight these businesses and raise awareness of the great local shops that are on our doorsteps”.
Leader of Harborough District Council, Cllr Neil Bannister, added, “I am delighted to support Small Business Saturday with our local MP, Alberto Costa. It’s been excellent to meet with local businesspeople in Lutterworth and to discuss how the District Council can do more to support the town. FSB Regional Chair for Leicestershire, Rutland & Northamptonshire, Mr Les Phillimore, also said, “The FSB are always very pleased to support Small Business Saturday, and visiting Lutterworth today; it was great to see such a thriving market town with such a diverse range of traders and retailers”,
Alberto concluded, “Small businesses are the backbone of our nation’s economy, and it was great to meet local business owners and to discuss their concerns and their views on how local businesses can continue to flourish in South Leicestershire. I am very grateful also to the Leader of Harborough District Council for joining me today, and of course to the District Council themselves for offering free car parking for Small Business Saturday, as a further encouragement for constituents to visit the town’s shops”.
