On Thursday 2nd February, Alberto Costa, Member of Parliament for South Leicestershire, chaired a meeting with local representatives, including Leicestershire Police & Crime Commissioner, Lord Willy Bach, in order to discuss reports of Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) taking place at the Coventry Road Recreation Ground in Lutterworth.
The meeting, which invited local residents to discuss their concerns, brought together representatives from Harborough District Council, Lutterworth Town Council and Leicestershire Police as well as the local MP and the county PCC in order to discuss these issues and find a workable solution.
Alberto said, “I was very troubled to hear of the high number of instances of Anti-Social Behaviour taking place at the Recreation Ground in Lutterworth. ASB is a particularly difficult and tiresome issue for local communities and so I was very pleased to organise this multi-agency meeting, of course, with the objective of finding a long-term remedy to the issues affecting constituents living near Coventry Road”.
Lord Bach added, “It was good to have the opportunity to hear at first-hand about the problems that people have been experiencing and I know that the partnership between the Police and local authorities will work hard to resolve these issues.”
Alberto concluded, “I’m very grateful to Lord Bach and the other representatives from Leicestershire Police and the local authority for giving up their time this afternoon to discuss this vitally important issue. I look forward to working closely with the fellow attendees in the future, in order to ensure that this is not a recurring issue for the constituents of Lutterworth”.
