South Leicestershire MP, Alberto Costa, visited the Swan House Delivery Office at the Meridian Business Park to see first-hand the operation of delivering Christmas post and pass on early Season’s Greetings to its dedicated, hardworking staff.
Alberto was shown around the office by Multiple Unit Processing Manager Dean Bowles and was introduced to the postmen and women who will be pulling out all the stops to sort and deliver post in South Leicestershire in the busy Christmas period.
The Festive Season is Royal Mail’s busiest period, as millions of people ship online for gifts as well as sending Christmas cards and parcels. Royal Mail also plays a key role in e-commerce for many businesses sending good to customers throughout the Christmas shopping season.
Alberto said, “At no other time is the hard work and dedication of postmen and women clearer than during the festive season. This is an exceptionally busy time for the Royal Mail across both the county and the country, however the Royal Mail team in Leicestershire always do a tremendous job in delivering a first class Christmas to people in the county”.
Mr Dean Bowles, Multiple Unit Processing Manager of the Swan House Delivery Office, added, “Our postmen and women will be working extremely hard to deliver parcels, cards, letters and parcels to people in South Leicestershire and the wider county. We are grateful that Alberto visited the office to see our operation and to support the team. We’d like to remind our customers to post early this Christmas and to ensure all their post is posted by the recommended dates so that friends and family can enjoy their Christmas greetings and parcels”.
Alberto concluded, “It was a real pleasure to meet Dean and his team here at Swan House and to thank them for the extraordinary lengths they go to in ensuing that Christmas parcels and cards are delivered to loved ones and friends at this time, as well as thanking them for delivering our post all through the year, whatever the weather”.
