South Leicestershire MP Alberto Costa has hailed the success of the first-ever South Leicestershire Veterans Fair which he hosted at Broughton Astley Village Hall on Friday 7th July.
Over 100 local veterans attended the Fair, with organisations such as Help For Heroes, The Royal British Legion, the Veterans Wellbeing Hub, British Forces Resettlement Services, Job Centre Plus and representatives from both Blaby and Harborough District Councils also in attendance.
Alberto organised the Fair as an opportunity for local veterans from across South Leicestershire to find out more about the support available to them from local and national armed forces organisations.
Alberto said, “I was delighted to see such a magnificent turnout from local veterans at the first-ever South Leicestershire Veterans Fair in Broughton Astley. I was honour to host the Fair and to have so many fantastic veterans’ charities and organisations join us to talk about their wonderful work and the brilliant services they provide to the men and women of our armed forces.
I am very pleased that so many local veterans took advantage of the opportunity to hear more about the support available to them, and I very much look forward to building on the success of this year’s Fair by hopefully repeating the event next year”.
