South Leicestershire MP, Alberto Costa, has launched a competition for young people in his constituency to design a window poster for the 75th anniversary of VE Day this Friday.
Alberto has launched the competition on his Facebook and Twitter pages asking children of primary school age from across South Leicestershire to design a poster celebrating the 75th anniversary of VE Day, with the winner and two runners-up receiving special House of Commons prizes.
Entries must be A4 in size, portrait or landscape, and can be submitted by taking a picture or scan of your poster and sending it to [email protected] with your name, age and full address – the deadline for submitting entries is 10am on Friday (8th May).
Alberto said, “With us all celebrating VE Day a little bit differently this year, I thought it would be nice to get some of the brilliant, young budding artists in South Leicestershire involved in designing some fantastic posters celebrating a truly momentous day in British history. VE Day marks a particularly proud day for our country, and while we will all be celebrating at home, that doesn’t mean that we can’t still celebrate together. I’m sure it’ll be very tricky to pick a winning entry, but I really look forward to seeing some fantastic posters this week”.
