MP for South Leicestershire, Alberto Costa, has paid tribute to HRH The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, in the House of Commons praising ‘the father of the nation’ following the Prince’s death at the age of 99.
Alberto joined MPs from across the House of Commons in discussing Prince Philip’s life and praising his ‘unparalleled’ impact on the United Kingdom as Her Majesty The Queen’s ‘Strength and Stay’ throughout her reign.
Speaking in the House of Commons on Monday 12th April, Alberto said, “Our country has lost a public servant who through his years of dedicated public service gathered unparalleled expertise, knowledge and skills that this collective loss to our country of all this global knowledge cannot be over emphasised”.
Alberto also sent his condolences and those of his constituents in South Leicestershire to Her Majesty The Queen saying, “As he takes his final journey to a much greater place, On behalf of the people of South Leicestershire, can I extend my sincere condolences to Her Majesty The Queen and the Royal Family on the passing of Prince Philip”.
