South Leicestershire MP Alberto Costa has been working hard to support constituents who have been affected by the recent flooding in Blaby, Croft, and surrounding villages.
Alberto has been working closely with the Environment Agency, Leicestershire County Council, Blaby District Council and local councillors to discuss the actions being taken to support the constituents of South Leicestershire affected by the flooding, and to gain a greater understanding of how and why the floods occurred, as well as potential ways they can be prevented in the future.
Mr Costa has called on all residents and local businesses affected by the floods to contact his parliamentary office ([email protected]) to share their experiences as this will greatly assist the Environment Agency's ongoing investigation into this unprecedented event.
Alberto said “These floods have been truly devastating and it is awful to see the impact it has had on people’s homes, belongings and businesses in Blaby, Croft, and surrounding villages. Please be reassured that my team and I continue to follow this issue closely and are working with the relevant authorities – the Environment Agency, Leicestershire County Council, Blaby District Council, and others – to support constituents, obtain a greater understanding of the causes and ensure that lessons can be learned.”
Alberto also said “Thank you to all the constituents and local business-owners affected by the floods who have taken the time to contact me about this issue. Please do continue to send me your experiences via my Parliamentary email address ([email protected]). This will greatly assist ongoing investigation into this unprecedented event. I’d also like to thank the emergency services for the tireless work they have done to support constituents during this challenging time”.
