South Leicestershire MP, Alberto Costa, has raised concerns with the Police & Crime Commissioner for Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland over the recent reports of a number of vehicles being stolen in the villages of Enderby and Narborough.
The MP has said that his office has received multiple reports from constituents about a number of vehicles being stolen in the South Leicestershire villages over the past week or so. As a result, Mr Costa has written to Rupert Matthews, Leicestershire’s Police and Crime Commissioner, and has also raised concerns with Leicestershire Police’s Local Area Commander for the Blaby Area.
Alberto said, “A number of constituents have contacted my office alarmed at the recent spate of vehicles being stolen, with homes in Narborough and Enderby being targeted over the course of the last week. This is incredibly concerning, and as such I have today written to the Police and Crime Commissioner and the Local Area Commander for the Blaby Area to ensure that the Police are aware of these crimes, and to ask what action is being taken to address this”.
Alberto added, “I would ask constituents to please be vigilant over the course of the coming weeks and to please report any suspicious activity they might see. With the nights now drawing in, vehicle thefts and burglaries may become more common, therefore following crime prevention advice, and reporting any suspicions are very important. I will of course continue to monitor this situation very closely and ensure that the Police take the appropriate action in preventing this crime and finding those responsible”.
