Alberto Costa MP recently visited the award-winning Oakberry Trees located in Dunton Bassett in his South Leicestershire constituency to see this year’s crop of Christmas Trees.
Oakberry Trees, a family run Christmas Tree farm, is one of only a few farms of its kind in Leicestershire; and they recently won a national competition to provide a Christmas Tree to the Prime Minister’s residence, No. 10 Downing Street, and have again this year provided the large tree for Lutterworth town centre.
Alberto said, “It was a real pleasure to visit Oakberry Trees again this year and to speak to Richard and Gail about the brilliant work they’ve been doing to grow another crop of excellent Christmas trees. My family and I always enjoy visiting Oakberry to pick up our tree for the festive season, and I’m delighted that this has been another great year for this wonderful local business”.
Mr Richard Underwood, Owner of Oakberry Trees, added, “I was delighted to invite Alberto to visit the farm again this year, and we’re always very pleased to receive his support. Our Christmas Trees usually take about six or seven years to fully grow, however we’re always keen to plan ahead to ensure that we always have plenty of trees for the local community for many years to come”.
Alberto concluded, “Oakberry Trees are a South Leicestershire institution and I am very proud to have such a thriving, independent, family-run business in my constituency. I would like to thank Richard and Gail for all of their hard work throughout the year, and should like to wish the very best for the New Year and another successful, busy year in Dunton Bassett”.
