Member of Parliament for South Leicestershire, Alberto Costa, recently visited the first phase of the brand-new £30 million Everards Meadows development near Fosse Park in Enderby.
Alberto met with the Chairman, Richard Everard, and the Managing Director, Stephen Gould, of Everards to see the recently completed first phase of the new development including the construction of the new Everards Brewery and beer hall as well as the recently opened Rutland Cycling superstore and the new Jenno’s Coffee House, the second branch of the family owned South Leicestershire business.
As part of the £30 million plans, the new Everards Brewery and beer hall will be opening in Summer 2020 as the core of the 70-acre development.
Alberto said, “It was a tremendous pleasure to see the recently completed first phase of the brilliant new Everards Meadows development near Fosse Park. It has been fantastic to see the development come to fruition after a lot of hard work in the planning stages; this is a huge boost for South Leicestershire and simply wonderful news for constituents, beer enthusiasts and shoppers alike”.
Mr Richard Everard, Chairman of Everards, said, “We are really excited to see the first phase of Everards Meadows open and it’s been a pleasure to work with two local, independent family businesses - Jenno’s Coffee House and Rutland Cycling. Both are now welcoming customers making Everards Meadows the perfect place to purchase, hire or repair a bike together with the opportunity to relax and enjoy coffee and cakes with fantastic views. The site’s location makes it easy to visit by road, on foot or on bike with a direct route off the National Cycleway and we’ve seen lots of people exploring during the first week. Now we continue the exciting development of our new home on the site and next Autumn we look forward to opening the doors to our new brewery, offices and beer hall.”
Alberto added, “It’s really excellent to see two South Leicestershire businesses thriving, the first, a county and national favourite in Everards, who I am delighted to see staying local with their new state of the art brewery and beer hall, and secondly, a real South Leicestershire success story, family owned Jenno’s Coffee House. I am very pleased for Paul on the opening of his second branch following the success of their first Coffee House in Blaby Town Centre. The opening of the new Rutland Cycle Centre is also genius as it ties into the National Cycle Network which connects to the site. This is a fantastic development, a real boost for the constituency, county and the region, and I very much look forward to coming back to see the completed Everards Brewery next summer”.
