On Friday 28th October, South Leicestershire MP visited local Engineering business, Bowers & Freeman, in Wigston in order to meet with Managing Director and South Leicestershire constituent, John Bowers, and to tour the engineering works.
Founded in 1948, Bowers & Freeman are an internationally renowned engineering company specialising in precision engineering and engraving. They provide precision tooling for the packaging industry and have a range of clients in the cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and food industries, while they also produce header punches and stamps for the aerospace industry.
Alberto said, "It was a real pleasure to visit Bowers & Freeman earlier today. They are an organisation with a long and successful history in an industry that is unfortunately seldom seen in Leicestershire presently, however their highly skilled work and products ensure that they are an asset to the local area both in terms of their exports and business but also in the type of employment they provide".
Bowers & Freeman, Managing Director, John Bowers added, "Although we are only a small firm , originally working in a traditional and declining environment, we have made great efforts to modernise our products and processes. We were very pleased to welcome Alberto and to show him the contribution the government has made and continues to make to enable us to punch above our weight".
Alberto concluded, "The excellent work John and his team do here ensure that Britain continues to be a strong exporting partner to other parts of the world and I am very pleased to support Bowers & Freeman to ensure that they make their future as successful as their esteemed past".
