Alberto Costa MP has welcomed his Parliamentary colleague and the First Secretary of State, the Rt. Hon Damian Green MP, to his constituency of South Leicestershire.
Mr Green, who was promoted to his new ministerial position at the beginning of the new Parliament, attended a Conservative Party event in Ullesthorpe where he met with local Conservative association supporters and discussed a range of national matters.
Alberto, who organised the event, said, “I was delighted to introduce Britain’s First Minister to my local Association. It was an excellent opportunity for party members to discuss the needs of South Leicestershire and to hear directly from one the UK’s most senior Government ministers”.
Mr Green added, “It was a pleasure to visit South Leicestershire and to accompany my good friend Alberto to an event for his local Conservative Association. It’s always enjoyable to address party members and to hear their views on some very important local and national matters”.
Alberto concluded, “I am very grateful to Damian for making the trip up to South Leicestershire and for taking the time to address members of my local association. I think it’s hugely important that Ministers are kept informed of their members opinions, especially at a grassroots level, and on the other side, I know that members of my association enjoyed hearing from the minister and enjoyed having the opportunity to quiz him on a variety of subjects”.
