On Friday 4th March, Member of Parliament for South Leicestershire, Alberto Costa, welcomed Pauline Tagg, Chairman, and Richard Henderson, Director of Operations, from East Midlands Ambulance Service to his Constituency Office in Blaby to discuss how the organisation is working to improve the services to the people of South Leicestershire and the surrounding areas.
East Midlands Ambulance Service are tasked to provide urgent care and patient transport to approximately 4.8 million people across the East Midlands. They also employ over 2,700 people, with the majority being frontline emergency staff.
Mr Costa said, “It was a real pleasure to meet with Pauline and Richard from EMAS. I raised with them concerns about the service and I was encouraged to hear about the efforts of their organisation and staff to deliver an improved service to my constituents in South Leicestershire as well as those across the East Midlands”.
Mrs Pauline Tagg, Chairman of East Midlands Ambulance Service added: “We are pleased that Alberto accepted our invitation to discuss the ways in which we work within the constituency. We updated him on our latest initiatives and also how we are continually looking to improve the service we offer to the local people of Leicestershire”.
Mr Costa concluded, “I am very pleased that the East Midlands Ambulance Service have a training centre located in my constituency at Meridian Business Park and so I am always interested to hear how this integral service is being delivered. As such, I’m aware of how hard our emergency services work both across my constituency, the region and the nation and I’m very thankful for their efforts”.
