“I was delighted to have been invited to launch “Sydney” which is one of two proposed Cross Counties Radio mobile broadcasting units, that will enable the community radio station to do outreach work across South Leicestershire.
Sharon Harris-Boulter said
“Our team of volunteers have worked incredibly hard to bring "Sydney", our outreach mobile broadcast studio, to life, and we were delighted to welcome stakeholders in the project to our launch in early September.
Phase one of our project will allow our team to reach out to the community more than ever with our remote studio, connecting with those in rural areas or who struggle to get out and about so much, as well as providing a professional grade broadcasting studio at events across Lutterworth, Blaby and the surrounding areas.
We’re extremely thankful for the funding we received from Lutterworth Area Community Fund, Severn Trent Community Fund, Hinckley & Rugby Building Society and The Sunflower Community Radio Association, who saw our vision and helped us to make it a reality.”
Alberto Costa said
“The achievements of David, Sharon and the team at Cross Counties Radio are testament to the hard work and vison that they have for the local community and ensuring that my constituents benefit from community radio. I will continue to support the work of Cross Counties Radio as I have done over the years and will champion the work that the community radio station undertakes.”
