On Thursday 19th March 2015, Alberto Costa, Conservative Candidate for South Leicestershire, was delighted to join the PERA Training Apprenticeships Bus when he visited the Bus at Meridian Business Park and met the PERA team and some apprentices.
The PERA Apprenticeships Bus is used to attract Leicester and Leicestershire based businesses and encourage them to consider taking on apprentices. Bally Bhogal, the PERA Higher Apprenticeships Project Manager, explained to Alberto the work that PERA is doing for local young people and Leicestershire businesses. The Bus stops at business and industrial parks and the team then approach and canvass businesses located in those parks and encourage them to consider taking on apprentices.
Alberto Costa commented: “I am strongly supportive of ventures which promote apprenticeships. The PERA Apprenticeships Bus is a great and fun way to attract the attention of Leicestershire businesses and advise those businesses on the merits of taking on apprentices.”
Bally Bhogal added: “We are grateful that Alberto took the time to visit our Apprenticeships Bus to learn about the work that we are doing across Leicestershire, helping younger people into high quality local apprenticeships. Alberto took the time to join our team and canvass businesses in Meridian Business Park. We welcome Alberto's interest in campaigning for more apprenticeships."
Alberto Costa concluded: "Organisations like PERA Training help arrange quality apprenticeships for the benefit of our younger people. I would encourage local Leicestershire businesses to offer more apprenticeships to younger people.”
