On Friday 18 September 2015, local MP Alberto Costa attended the Memory Café in Lutterworth where he met some residents who suffer from dementia along with their family and friends.
Mr Costa who has personal family experience of this appalling disease was pleased to learn about the work done by the Alzheimer’s Society.
Alberto said “Friendly support groups such as the one that meets monthly at the Memory Café in Lutterworth provide very helpful local support to those suffering dementia and related illnesses. Carers who also attend learn about ways of coping with the effects of this disease on those they care for. I am grateful to the Alzheimer’s Society for organising the morning visit and wish this project continued success”.
