On Saturday 17 October 2015, Alberto Costa, MP for South Leics, was pleased to take part in the selection process for the new Conservative Candidate for the Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland Police and Crime Commissioner.
Neil Bannister was chosen by the region’s Conservatives. Neil is currently a senior CPS Crown Advocate, a councillor at Harborough District Council as well as Chairman of the South Leics Conservative Association.
Commenting on the election of the new candidate, Alberto Costa MP said “Sir Clive Loader has given many years excellent service but when he indicated that he was stepping down the selection process to find a Conservative candidate for next May’s PCC election began. I am truly delighted that Neil Bannister has been selected. He is a premier candidate and his wealth of experience and professional expertise of the criminal justice system will be offered to our region’s electorate next May.”
