On Wednesday 13th January, MP for South Leicestershire Alberto Costa, joined fellow Leicestershire MPs to meet with a Minister from the Department for Communities and Local Government.
The meeting was to discuss funding for Leicestershire County Council, which has historically had the lowest funding of County Councils across the country.
Mr Costa said “Leicestershire MPs were pleased to join the Leader of the Council to highlight the seriousness of the financial situation. It was a useful and productive meeting, where both the Leader and the Director of Resources were able to present current figures and future projections; outlining the seriousness of the funding gap faced.
We thank the Minister for meeting with us to discuss this important matter and look forward to working together to ensure the residents of Leicestershire continue to receive the crucial services they need.”
