On Friday 26th February 2016, MP for South Leicestershire, Alberto Costa visited Blaby based Jay Fostering, as part of Fostering February.
Jay Fostering provide support to those seeking care across the Midlands, through close partnership working with a number of local authorities. Since their establishment in 2003, they have helped over 1,250 children find the loving and supporting foster homes they need. During the visit, Mr Costa met with members of the Jay Fostering team as well as carers and some of the young people they look after.
Mr Costa said “It was a pleasure to meet Jay Fostering to learn about their organisation and the superb work of their team and all carers. To offer foster care to a child in need is an incredible act of generosity and compassion which has the potential to completely change someone’s life for the better.
Iain Anderson, Chief Executive of Jay Fostering said "I am delighted that Alberto has taken the time to visit Jay Fostering in Blaby. Jay has been providing fostering services to some of the most vulnerable children in his constituency for over ten years and this has provided Alberto with the opportunity to meet the team there, view the systems that are in place, and importantly meet a group of Jay carers and some of the young people they look after"
Mr Costa concluded “I would like to pay tribute to the work of the team and the carers who have helped change over 1,250 lives since 2003. Some of the carers and young people expressed an interest in coming to Westminster, so I look forward to hopefully welcoming them to shortly and showing them around the Houses of Parliament.”
