On Friday 26th February 2016, Alberto Costa, MP for South Leicestershire, met with the Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership (LLEP) Chairman Nick Pulley at his Santander offices in Carlton Park, Narborough.
During the meeting, a range of topics were discussed, pertaining to both Mr Pulley’s roles as LLEP Chairman as well as a Santander Divisional Managing Director. LLEP topics included the devolution agenda as part of the Midlands Engine alongside wider development underway across Leicestershire. During the meeting, Mr Costa was also given a tour of Carlton Park and met a number of employees across different parts of the business.
Mr Costa said “This was a very useful meeting and I’m grateful to Santander for taking the time to show me around their most impressive campus. Santander employ approximately 2,500 at Carlton Park and it was great to be able to meet some of the workers to discuss their roles and experience of working in South Leicestershire.”
Nick Pulley, Divisional Managing Director – Midlands and Wales, Santander Corporate and Commercial said “I’m delighted that Alberto Costa MP has come to visit Santander’s head office in Leicester. Leicester is a key market for Santander and we are focused on supporting and nurturing the development of ambitious businesses across the city and region as a whole. As a scale challenger, we believe that we are bringing a unique approach to help British businesses.”
Colin Webb, Director, Retail Contact Centre said “Carlton Park is a strategic site for Santander where we employ 2,500 people. The site houses many Santander UK departments and support functions which provide an invaluable service to all of our customers across the UK. I’m also enormously proud of the work carried out by our staff in Carlton Park to support the local community.”
Mr Costa concluded “The LLEP and Santander are key stakeholders in the regional economy and it was helpful to discuss both with Mr Pulley. I look forward to continued and ongoing partnership working with Nick and his teams at the LLEP and Santander to continue to showcase the exciting development opportunities across the area.”
