On Thursday 3rd March 2016, Alberto Costa, MP for South Leicestershire, met with a group of students from Brockington College, during their visit to the Parliamentary Education Service. This trip followed an earlier visit in January by another group of students from the college.
The visiting students were provided a tour of the Palace of Westminster, information on Parliamentary functions as well as the opportunity to meet and ask questions to their MP.
Mr Costa said “It was great to welcome Brockington College students to Parliament again. The Education Service is an excellent facility and it’s very pleasing to see the teachers and staff at Brockington are making the most of the service on offer. I’m pleased to hear the students enjoyed their trip and look forward to welcoming Brockington students back to Parliament again in the near future.”
James Green, English Teacher at Brockington College, said: “Brockington pupils were delighted to meet their local MP, Alberto Costa, at the Houses of Parliament. Mr Costa was generous with his time and took great interest in the pupils and their questions.
Over the busy day pupils toured Parliament, listened to a debate in the Commons, honed their own debating skills with Parliament’s Education Service, saw Downing Street and the Great Offices of State and explored images of power at the National Portrait Gallery. Mr Costa’s presence made a fantastic day even more special. Grazie mille.”
