South Leicestershire MP, Alberto Costa, has announced the launch of his Annual Community Christmas Card Competition inviting Primary School pupils in South Leicestershire to take part.
Sponsored by Jenno’s Coffee House and Lutterworth-based Lifeplan, all pupils from the Primary Schools in Mr Costa’s constituency have been invited to take part in designing a festive picture that will be used as the MP’s official Christmas card which will then be sent to hundreds of people locally and nationally.
Last year’s competition was won by 10-year old Tanvir Gill from The Pastures Primary School in Narborough. First Runner-Up was Tessa Preston from Greystoke Primary School and the Second Runner-Up was Amber Smith from Dunton Bassett Primary School.
The South Leicestershire MP visited The Pastures Primary School last year to present Tanvir with a prize for their winning entry, and the runners up also received prizes and certificates too.
Alberto said, “I am delighted to be launching my Annual Community Christmas Card Competition again this year. Last year’s competition saw more South Leicestershire Primary Schools taking part, and we hope to do even better this year. It’s always fantastic to see so many inventive and creative entries from young people from South Leicestershire, and so I am very much looking forward to seeing more festive designs very soon”.
Alberto added, “I am hugely grateful to all those schools and pupils that took part in last year’s Christmas Card competition and of course, I’m immensely grateful too to the brilliant local businesses again kindly sponsoring this year’s competition; Jenno’s Coffee House and Lifeplan. This competition is without a doubt one of the highlights of my office’s year, so we’re all really looking forward to seeing more excellent yuletide designs in the weeks to come”.
