South Leicestershire MP, Alberto Costa, has welcomed a meeting with the Leicestershire Police Area Commander for the Blaby area, Inspector Steve Palmer.
The recent meeting was both positive and inciteful and was a great opportunity for Alberto and Inspector Palmer to discuss policing matters across the Blaby area.
Alberto said, “It was great to meet with the Inspector recently. Since he took on the role of Area Commander, he has done a great job and I look forward to continuing to work with him and his colleagues in the months ahead. Those living locally will be pleased to know that we discussed the Blaby Bypass and ways to tackle speeding and anti-social behaviour in this area. It is reassuring to know that the Inspector is committed to resolving this issue and I will continue to support the work of Inspector Palmer and his colleagues on this issue as well as any other areas of concern in need of addressing”
Alberto also said, “The news that burglary in the Hinckley and Blaby area has decreased by 40% over the past year is very positive to hear. I have no doubt that this is due to the continuing hard work of our police force to deter criminal behaviour and arrest those who breach the law. The increase in the use of proactive police patrols as part of Operation Fortune has resulted in 32 arrests and 19 properties searched for stolen material. This is a great achievement for Leicestershire Police, long may it continue!”
